Minister of Labour Jameel Bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan headed Bahrain's participating delegation in the 322nd Session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO)'s Governing Body, held here from October 30 to November 13, 2014.
The Minister expressed the Bahraini government's pride in becoming a member at the ILO's Governing Body, and hailed the choice of the representative of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Othman Mohammed Sherif Al-Rayes as a member at the Governing Body's businessmen team, which, he said, reflects Bahrain's prestigious status, as a result of the His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's reform march.
He affirmed that the delegation's members play active role in the sessions and technical work teams and meetings.
He voiced Bahrain's keen interest in ILO's goals by promoting justice and equality values, protecting workers 'and employers' rights, as well as the promotion of social dialogue, stressing that participation in such meetings provide important opportunities for the exchange of expertise as well informing the rest of the world about the achievements and excellence of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the labour organisations in this prosperous era.
Bahrain's delegation comprises Bahrain Permanent Representative in Geneva Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri and a number of officials at Labour Ministry.
