Meeting
Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received at Gudaiybia Palace the Russian Trade Minister, His Excellency Denis Manturov, and the accompanying delegation.
The minister and the accompanying delegation are in Bahrain to participate in the Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia-Gulf Co-operation Council forum, hosted in the Kingdom.
His Royal Highness stressed that the strong bilateral relations between Bahrain and the Russian Federation are highly appreciated and that he valued all efforts to reinforce these relations on all fronts.
His Royal Highness noted that Bahrain and Russia’s bilateral relations exceed two decades, and provide a strong framework for exploring new opportunities for collaboration. During the meeting, His Royal Highness welcomed the delegation’s visit to Bahrain and their participation in the trade forum.
His Royal Highness expressed his hope that the opportunities for direct engagement facilitated by this forum will contribute to the establishment of joint ventures in a range of sectors, building on the positive results achieved by the visits of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to Moscow.
His Royal Highness further praised the recently signed agreements between Bahrain and Russia, which will contribute to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and the promotion of investment opportunities in both countries.
His Royal Highness went on to highlight Bahrain’s commitment to developing bilateral relations and maximising investment opportunities. He also noted that the launch of Gulf Air's direct flights to Moscow, which began last October, will also strengthen cultural and economic ties between the two countries.
For their part, the Russian delegation expressed their gratitude for the hospitality extended by His Royal Highness and his continued support in growing bilateral ties between the two countries. The delegation also highlighted Bahrain’s development as a regional investment hub and noted Russia’s desire to capitalise on the many business opportunities available in the Kingdom.
His Excellency Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Energy, His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed, Minister of Transportation and Communication and Acting Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (EDB), and His Excellency Zayed Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, also attended the meeting.
