Beijing - XINHUA

China's consumption at home will show some highlights in the second half of this year while the Ministry of Commerce will put forward specific measures to vitalize logistics and boost purchasing, Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng told Xinhua News Agency on Wednesday. "We are studying detailed moves to encourage logistics and consumption, including building up logistics facilities with discount loans and special subsidies as well as offering preference in land use. Local governments are encouraged to support credit consumption with discount loans and boost consumer finance institutions to lift the purchase of durable goods," Gao said. He added that new electronic products, energy-saving and intelligent home appliances, automobiles, furniture and building materials will be the new growth engines of domestic consumption for the rest of 2013, while online shopping, credit consumption and automobile renting will be new hot developments.
