Secretary General of the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) Taher el Sherif Thursday described as fruitful the recent visit paid by the British trade mission to Egypt headed by UK Prime Minister David Cameron's trade envoy to Egypt Jeffrey Donaldson.

In a statement to MENA, El Sherif said the British trade mission was comprised of a galaxy of British companies working in the fields of renewable energy, auto industry, education, construction, health, housing, tourism, medicine and paper industry.

During the visit, the British delegation met with members of the Egyptian Businessmen Association and the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB) to discuss ways to boost joint cooperation and investments.

The visit had many positive outcomes, including the establishment of an Egyptian-British solar power company, in which the British side will hold a share of 49%, he added.

Also, the Egyptian and British officials agreed to set up a technical education unit at a university in the Suez Canal area and work jointly in several housing projects being built in new cities, according to El Sherif.

Furthermore, they touched on the possibility of producing an Egyptian car with the help of British experts.
