Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nassr asserted that France is one of the most supportive countries to Egypt economic reform programs, underlining the importance of her visit to France to bolster bilateral and multilateral relations with the international foundations headquartered in France.

In statements to MENA, Nassr said she met with representatives of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization and the French Development Agency (AFD) to float the project of financing the budget of Egypt economic and social reform program few days ahead of presenting it to the African Development Bank and the World Bank to get a final approval.

During her meeting with officials at the organization, the minister asserted that Egypt has outline a comprehensive program for economic and social reform that target all classes of the society, especially the medium and poor ones.

Nassr's talks with the organization officials focused on means of restoring Egypt's role inside the organization by assuming the presidency of the economic empowerment for youths committee and involving youths in the development plans in areas suffering high unemployment rates.

As per talks with AFD officials, the minister said Egypt is carrying out several projects in cooperation with the agency, citing the project of Heliopolis metro and Alexandria tram as well as agricultural and youth skills programs.

She also made talks on financing a project for junior farmers to be part and parcel of the mega project of cultivating 1.5 million feddan projects. Other projects include extending power to remote and poor villages in Egypt, she added.
