Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said Sunday important agreements will be signed in the fields of energy, investment, education and development projects during the current visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Japan.
In statements, the spokesman said that boosting Japanese investments in Egypt is one of the main goals of the visit.
He praised the Japanese investment experience in Egypt, which did not leave the country during the past five years despite difficult circumstances.
Current plans for expanding Japanese investment in Egypt will be discussed during meetings between the president and major Japanese companies during the visit to overcome the obstacles they face in the country, the spokesman said.
He added that the current membership of Egypt and Japan in the UN Security Council reflects the need to promote coordination and consultation between the two countries in all international positions, as Tokyo has a desire to support political settlements of various crises in the Middle East.
Youssef said that Sisi will meet with the head of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as one of the international agencies that provided strong support for the development projects in Egypt.
The president will also meet with the governor of Tokyo to discuss ways to confront problems facing major capitals, especially the traffic congestion, he added.
Sisi will meet with the chairman of a major Japanese company before heading to the Japanese parliament's headquarters, where he is scheduled to meet with the speakers of the House of Representatives and the House of Counselors, the spokesman said.
During the visit, the president will deliver his historic speech before the Japanese parliament, to become historically the fifth head of state and the first Arab and African president to deliver such speech, he added.
Sisi will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two leaders will witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between Egypt and Japan in the field of electric power, then they will take part in a joint press conference, the spokesman said.
A dinner banquet will be held in honor of President Sisi, he added.
