Kuwait's pavilion, opened on Wednesday, attracted large numbers of visitors; it was organized by the tourism sector of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with the Touristic Enterprises Company (TEC) and Fondoq.com.
The Kuwaiti delegation briefed the visitors and a number of representatives of international tourist companies and travel agencies on the tourist attractions in Kuwait and the country's integrated vision for reviving the sector.
Faisal Al-Durai', head of the delegation and superintendent of the Ministry's tourism sector, hailed as fruitful the meetings they have held with representatives of travel agencies from Spain and European countries on the sidelines of the event.
"Our participation aimed to revive the tourism sector in Kuwait and shed light on the country's historical, cultural and architectural landmarks," he said in a statement to KUNA.
"The heritage sites in Kuwait represent an important part of our identity and the human civilization at large," he said.
The two sections of the pavilion showcased the traditional handicrafts, costumes and perfumes which had a particular appeal for the visitors.
Besides Al-Durai', the Kuwaiti delegation included, inter alia, TEC's representative Sager Al-Bader, CEO of Fondoq.com Bashar Al-Ostath, and Humoud Al-Dabbous from the tourism sector.
