Iran and an Indonesian company are in talks to export 1.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year to Indonesia, an Iranian energy official said. Managing Director of Iran''s LNG Company Ali Kheirandish told (Fars) news agency that the first round of talks over LNG exports to the southeastern Asian country has been held between the two sides. The Iranian official said that Iran''s LNG Company and the Indonesian company will discuss about a pricing mechanism, which is based on oil prices, in the next round of talks. Iran will provide Indonesia with LNG cargos after 2013 once the deal is finalized, Kheirandish said without revealing the name of the Indonesian company. Iran aims to increase its share in the global gas market to 10 percent and become a major LNG supplier through the production of 70 million tons of liquefied natural gas by 2015. According to National Iranian Gas Export Company''s marketing manager Alireza Qasemi-Javid, seven LNG production projects are being developed in the country to reach the intended target.
