Japan will grant Egypt EGP 1.2 billion to finance a planned power-system automation in Dameitta in northern Egypt, authorities said on Friday.
A Japanese delegation has visited the governorate to mull the plan, said Dameitta Governor Ismail Abdel-Hamid in statements on Friday.
The scheme will reduce power grid faults, he noted.
The grant is run by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said the governor.
Power-system automation is the act of automatically controlling the power system via instrumentation and control devices
