His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday left Amman heading for the winter resort city of Davos, Switzerland, to take part in the 45th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting.
The meeting started Wednesday with the participation of world leaders, intellectuals, and representatives of international organizations to discuss major economic and political issues.
During his visit, the King will discuss with heads of state and economic figures the latest regional and global challenges.
The Monarch will also participate in a panel discussion moderated by CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria, which will focus on major regional and global challenges and ways of dealing with them.
This year's meeting is being convened under the theme, "The New Global Context". The theme reflects the period of profound political, economic, social and technological change that the world has entered.
The key challenges of "The New Global Context", including economic growth and social inclusion, climate change and the future of the Internet figure high on the agenda of the meeting.
The WEF meeting brings together some 2,500 participants, including 40 heads of state, 1,000 heads of the world's largest and most successful businesses, alongside leaders from civil society, labor unions, and the world's major religions.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent in the presence of the Cabinet.
