The National Assembly (parliament) on Tuesday extended the mandate of a parliamentary committee investigating the situation in Kuwait's Investment Office in London and other world cities.
A number of MPs have demanded the extension of the mandate of the committee, with its current lineup, to complete its report on the issue.
The committee members said that the time was not sufficient to complete the investigations and interrogation of relevant officials and staff members.
On 14 May, the Assembly formed the five-member committee to probe Kuwait investment offices in London and other cities. The panel was given until the start of the next parliamentary term to complete its investigation.
For his part, Finance Minister Anas Al-Saleh asked the MPs who signed the petition of the investigation panel to specify the investigation topics and the committee's jurisdictions.
