Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Wednesday urged the connectivity between the two counties through sea, land and air links for enhancing the trade. The Prime Minister was talking to the Iranian Ambassador Masha’Allah Shakeri, who paid a farewell call on him, the Prime Minister office said. The Prime Minister recalled his meetings with the Iranian President, First Vice President, the Speaker and the Iranian leadership during his recent visit to Iran and said they had held very fruitful and useful talks. The PM said that Iranian gas pipeline and import of 1000 MW electricity would ease energy shortfall in the country, the statement said. Gilani also discussed progress regarding the opening of Consulate General in Bandar Abbas. The PM asked the Ambassador to convey his best wishes to the leadership of Iran. The Ambassador thanked the people of Pakistan and the Prime Minister for their support during his diplomatic assignment in Pakistan. The Ambassador said that he would continue to work to enhance cooperation between the two countries while working in Iran in whatever capacity.
