President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received head of the Iranian-Syrian Economic Relations Development Committee Rostam Qasemi and the accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting focused on the standing economic cooperation between Syria and Iran and prospects of developing and boosting it in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries’ people.
Qasemi lauded Syria’s steadfastness in the face of the war targeting it and the Syrians’ sacrifices in the battle against terrorism which didn’t dissuade them from continuing their leading role in the resistance axis.
He asserted that the Iranian leadership is committed to working with Syria to bolster its steadfastness, and that Iran is prepared to offer its expertise and all that is necessary to help Syria in the issue of reconstruction.
For his part, President al-Assad affirmed Syria’s commitment to boosting economic cooperation and coordination with Iran to match the level of their political and historical relations.
President al-Assad asserted that the Syrian people welcome Iran’s readiness to help in reconstruction along with other friendly countries and that they hold Iran in high esteem for its support for Syria in the face of the plots targeting the region’s people and mutual interests.
