HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani met today with a French business delegation.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on enhancing contacts between the private sector of both countries to serve their common interests.
The volume of trade between the State of Qatar and France in 2013 reached about QAR 9.3 billion, with exports to France totaling nearly QAR 6.6 billion, including mineral fuels, oils, products, chemicals and plastics and their products, pearls and precious stones. The value of imports from France reached of approximately QAR 2.75 billion, notably aircraft and parts, electrical and electronic equipment, machinery, boilers, ships and boats.
HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce also met with Secretary General of international economic relations at the Greek Foreign Ministry and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed joint cooperation, particularly in economic, trade and investment and ways to develop them.
The State of Qatar and Greece share a number of economic agreements including an agreement on economic, trade and technical cooperation signed in Athens in 2007. In 2013 the volume of trade between the State of Qatar and Greece reached nearly QAR 377.5 million.
