Qatar's Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani said the volume of trade exchange between the State of Qatar and the Republic of France has had a important role in the promotion of economic relations between the two countries, where the trade volume rose to QR 7.5 billion in 2015 compared to QR 4.7 billion in 2010.
This came in an opening speech delivered by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce while presiding over the inauguration of the special Qatari- French Business meeting (Cadran) here today in the presence of a number of business leaders and representatives of government agencies from both countries.
HE the Minister referred to the close and historical ties between Qatar and France which contributed to strengthening the friendship relations between the two countries , where leaders of the two countries had made great efforts in order to establish these relations and push them forward to become distinguished strategic relations, noting in this context the visit to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of France in June 2014, which represented an important step to promote and push forward these relations.
HE the Minister noted that France is one of the most important strategic partners of the State of Qatar, where the total number of French companies operating in Qatar amounted to 294 companies, including 66 companies with100 percent French ownership , and 228 companies set up in partnership with the Qatari side.
