Russia bans imports of US poultry meat

Russia’s agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor announced on Thursday it will ban imports of US poultry meat as of December 5.
As of December 5, Rosselkhoznadzor is "introducing temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia’s territory from US enterprises of poultry meat and by-products, and also finished goods of poultry meat", the statement says, Itar-Tass reported.
The watchdog said the measure comes in an effort to "ensure safety protection of poultry products entering the Russian market".
