Russia reduced the import of goods from foreign countries by 2.4% during the first three quarters of 2016 compared with the same period of the previous year to $115,68 billion, according to statistics of the Federal customs service (FCS).
In September 2016, the imports of goods from CIS countries in value terms amounted to $15.3 billion, decreasing in comparison with August by 3.4%, media reports said.
But in particular, the imports of foodstuffs and raw materials for their production increased by 1.7% to hit $1.56 billion.
Food commodities in September increased import of grain crops by 1.9 times, milk products by 2.8%.
The import of meat and by-products remained at the level of the previous month.
