French President Nicolas Sarkozy's approval rating rebounded to a five-month high, according to a poll released on Sunday. The numbers serve as the latest sign that his high-visibility role in battling the euro zone debt crisis is helping his outlook among voters. A survey of about 1,000 people was the latest to find Sarkozy narrowing the gap with Socialist rival Francois Hollande five months before a presidential election. But even with a four-percentage point improvement, Sarkozy's approval rating sits at only 34 percent. That trails Hollande, who might have dropped 3 percentage points, but sits at 53 percent. Meanwhile, Sarkozy's approval rating for handling the euro zone economic crisis and France's budget crunch, at 38 percent, is slightly higher than his overall rating but that still means a full 62 percent of French voters don't agree with how he's handling the economy.
