President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Saturday Germany's former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in the presence of Egyptian engineer and international tunnels experts Hani Azer and the German ambassador in Cairo.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said the German guest voiced appreciation for distinguished relations binding Egypt and Germany and asserted that Egypt's economic conference, set for March in Sharm El Sheikh, will provide a good opportunity for German companies willing to operate in Egypt.
He said the German companies are seeking to establish investments and also transfer its technical expertise and vocational training to Egypt.
Sisi, on his part, voiced admiration of the German expertise and their persistence to achieve progress and prosperity, said the spokesman.
Sisi asserted that the Egyptian vision in fighting terrorism required activating the European cooperation with Egypt in all domains, especially in vocational training in order to prepare qualified youths who could contribute to the working force.
Schoreder, on his part, praised the efforts exerted by the Egyptian president and government in order to achieve democracy and move freedoms ahead in Egypt.
The German chancellor was also briefed on Sisi's vision regarding the situation in Libya.
President Sisi said the Nato operation in Libya was incomplete and has brought about negative repercussions on the Libya people who are now under the fist of the armed groups.
Sisi pressed the need for backing the Middle East countries at such critical stage by its partners and friends, a matter which he viewed as part of the war on terror and avoiding spread of terrorism worldwide.
