Spain ruling party ran illegal slush fund

A court probe has found that Spain's ruling Popular Party ran an illegal slush fund for 18 years, a judge said Monday, reviving a corruption scandal that has embarrassed the government.
Investigating judge Pablo Ruz of the National Court in Madrid said he had gathered evidence that the party used "various sources of funding outside of the legal economic sphere", his tribunal said in a statement.
