Seven lending and funding contracts with a total amount of 76.7 million euros were signed on Thursday in Tunis as part of the Tunisian-German financial and technical co-operation. According to the Tunisian Press Agency (TAP), these contracts provide for the creation of projects in water, integrated projects of water resources and modernisation of irrigated public domains. They also touch on issues of environment protection and rehabilitation through industrial depollution and setting up of controlled landfills in several inland governorates of the country, particularly in Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa and Kasserine. Commenting on the event, Director General of German Bank for Development and Reconstruction (KFW) for North Africa and the Middle East, Mrs. Doris Kohn, who signed the agreement for the German side reiterated the strong support of Germany to Tunisia and its commitment to Tunisia, particular after the strides made on the path of freedom and democracy, TAP reported. She underlined that the KFW plans to further strengthen and diversify its co-operation with Tunisia to cover such new fields like regional development and fight against unemployment. (QNA) f l
