Consumer prices index (CPI) rose 0.66 percent and producer prices index (PPI) increased 0.81 percent in March 2013. TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, announced inflation rates of Turkey on Wednesday. Annual inflation was posted as 7.29 percent in consumer prices index, and 2.3 percent in producer prices index as of March 2013. The indices rose for clothing and footwear 0.86 percent, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.62 percent, for health 0.48 percent, for recreation and culture 0.33 percent, for miscellaneous goods and services 0.29 percent, for housing 0.23 percent, for education 0.09 percent, for furnishings and household equipment 0.09 percent, for communication 0.02 percent, while the index for transportation 0.05 percent declined. The index for alcoholic beverages and tobacco remained same. Meanwhile, PPI of agriculture decreased by 0.06 percent compared with December of the previous year, decreased by 5.77 percent compared with the same month of the previous year, increased by 2.26 percent on the averages of twelve months basis. PPI of industry section increased by 0.61 percent compared with December of the previous year, increased by 4 percent compared with the same month of the previous year and by 4.64 percent on the averages of twelve months basis. PPI increased by 0.61 percent in the index for mining and stone quarrying, by 0.90 percent in the index for manufacturing and by 1.78 percent in the index for electricity, gas and water.
