Dubai - Arabstoday

Al Fardan Exchange launched a reloadable prepaid Visa Card - Travelez - in Dubai on Monday. “We utilise world class technology to provide fair-priced, value added financial service, like our international money transfer services,” Osama Al Rahma, General Manager of Al Fardan Exchange UAE, told media during the announcement. “The launch of Travelez Visa prepaid card is a major leap forward. Our focus for Travelez is delivering convenience to our members who are regular travelers,” Rahma added. Travelez gives travellers and consumers the same freedom people enjoy with their current Visa credit and debit cards with additional controls, low risk and more facilities. Travelez reloadable Visa card can be used anywhere a Visa Card is accepted globally. The card can be used at points of sale (POS), online (Internet) shopping and also at ATMs for cash withdrawal. “Reloadable prepaid cards offer tremendous value to travellers, including convenience, value and a means to budget for expenses. This new Travelez offering creates more choice and flexibility for travelers who want the additional peace of mind that cash doesn’t offer,” said Rasool Hujair, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Finance LLC. When asked if there were any hidden charges, Rahma said there were none, except the cost of the card. Like other Visa cards a minimum fee of Dhs2 will be charged for the ATM swift while a minimum of Dhs11 per transaction will be charged outside the UAE. “Unlike other cards which charge according to the amount, Travlez charges will be fixed irrespective of the amount,” Rahma explained. Travelez card is available in two currencies: Dirham and US Dollar. Both cards are available as Standard and Premium category. The Standard cards are valid for one year and are non-personalised. Premium cards are valid for three years, are personalised and have higher load limits. The Travelez Card holders will get discounts on various outlets across UAE like Ski Dubai, Magic Planet, Aqua Play, iFLY, Little Explorer, Soccer Circus, Yalla Bowling, Wall Climbing and Sky Trail. Also Travelez Card holders will get discounts on electronic items through the Gridzdirect and theeshoponline.com. There will be many more similar offers attached to the card in coming days.
