Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (Dafza), on Monday announced the launch of Dafza’s new Strategic Plan 2017-2021 designed to support the vision of building a better freezone.
The five-year strategic plan will enable the Authority to further support the government’s goals of pushing the UAE’s economic ranks globally. It will also serve as a way to steer growth efforts towards the right direction by adopting globally-recognised standards.
The Plan 2017-2021 consists of the four key elements of learning and innovation, internal process, customer, and financial perspectives. New objectives and business programmes will be launched to keep ahead of new developments over the next five years in line.
To ensure that the Strategic Plan is in line with Dubai Plan 2021, the strategy timeline has been extended from three to five years in order to support the Dubai government’s strategies for areas such as smart transformation, innovation, happiness, and clean energy, among others.
The plan contains 13 goals to optimise investment prospects according to the national development plan as well as contribute to building a competitive and diversified economy.
According to Mohammad Al Zarouni, Dafza’s director general, the plan focuses on Dafza’s investment opportunities, with special emphasis on employees and a customer-centric corporate culture.
He added that the new strategic plan aims to attract more foreign direct investments from leading markets to foster national economic growth through increased gross domestic product contributions.
Dafza will also maximise its profits through trade diversification, joint ventures, the provision of new commercial products and services, and fostering a culture of national responsibility across the freezone
