Dubai Trade, the leading cross-border trade facilitator, has honoured six teams made up of members of both Dubai Trade and its strategic partners for their dedication in implementing key projects to facilitate trade over the past 12 months. In a special ceremony Dubai Trade, a Dubai World company, awarded certificates of appreciation to the teams, which combined executives from DP World, Dubai Customs, Jafza, ITC, Dubai World, as well as Dubai Trade. The ceremony was attended by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chairman, Dubai Trade, and Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO, Dubai Trade. The completed projects included extending the Contact Centre operations’ hours to 24x7, organising the E-Services Excellence Award 2011 (ESEA), launching the Tradelines e-newsletter, rolling out the Certified Trade & Logistics Professional (CTLP) Programme, rolling out the Dubai Trade Intranet, facilitating the World Bank’s “Doing Business” Survey, adding new banks to the Rosoom online payment gateway, publishing the Dubai Trade Case Study by the Emirates Competitiveness Council, launching Insurance e-Services, integrating with Emirates Sky Cargo e-Services, and implementing and rolling out DP World e-Services (Cargo Gate Pass, Prepaid Card). Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, said: “Dubai Trade has not only been instrumental in innovative use of technology to increase the efficiency, cost effectiveness and volume of trade via Dubai, its highly interactive approach to clients and the close ties it’s forging with all stakeholders in the trading community is creating the synergy needed to make the UAE the world’s top trading hub.” Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Chairman, Dubai Trade, said: “Competent and dedicated human resources lie at the core of the success Dubai Trade has achieved over the past 12 months. More than 800 online e-services of DP World, Economic Zones World, Dubai Customs and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, in addition to several leading banks are integrated under the Dubai Trade umbrella.
