Etisalat introduced a new ‘Wasel International Add-on’, which allows Wasel prepaid customers to make international calls at prices equivalent to that of local calls. With the new ‘Wasel International Add-on’, customers will pay only 0.5 fils per second for international calls the same rate as they pay for making domestic calls when they call six destinations: Etisalat networks in Egypt and Sri Lanka and all networks in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and China. Billing is on per second basis and the rate is applicable any time of the day, every day of the week. A call set-up fee of Dh1 per call will be applied at the beginning of the call, it said in a statement. Wasel prepaid customers can subscribe to the offer for free by dialing *141# or by sending “IDD” as an sms to 1010. Khaled Elkhouly, chief marketing officer, Etisalat, said: “At Etisalat, we continuously seek to provide our customers with attractive offers that meet their needs. Leveraging Etisalat’s presence overseas, we are delivering an incredible value to residents of the UAE, allowing them to talk longer at more affordable rates on Etisalat’s high-quality network.” The latest offer comes after a string of moves by Etisalat in recent months offering UAE consumers improved versatility and superior value for money.
