Abu Dhabi - WAM

Etisalat, the U.A.E.'s leading telecommunication services provider, is strengthening its leadership in roaming services by offering competitive rates in 190 countries. Given the U.A.E.'s status as an international tourism and business hub, there is an increasing demand for competitive mobile and data roaming services. With an extensive network of 680 international roaming partners, Etisalat allows prepaid and post-paid customers to use their phones abroad without the need for a subscription or deposit. Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Marketing Officer, said, "Roaming charges are a key concern for today's well-travelled consumers and we don't want to toe the line when it comes offering a cost effective service. Our fantastic roaming offers provide customers with flexibility, simplicity and, above all, cost-saving; meaning there is no need to purchase a phone card or subscribe to additional services. "We want our customers to have peace of mind when they are travelling and our extensive network of preferred partners ensures they can stay connected with friends, family and co-workers at competitive rates." Etisalat's incoming call roaming charges start at AED 0.5 for the first minute and there are also packages for frequent travellers and data users. Data roaming packages fall under three categories - 25MB for AED 25, 100MB for AED 100 and 1GB for AED 200 - while a traveller package offers 1GB plus 1000 minutes of incoming calls for AED 500 per month. Customers can take advantage of competitive roaming rates for incoming calls in all destinations, while data roaming offers can be availed by choosing one of Etisalat's 143 preferred operators in 70 countries. Etisalat also provides two special offers for the business sector - a group data roaming package and a single number roaming package. Both offers are designed to simplify the subscription process and reduce costs. With these packages, companies have the ability to cap their data usage at a certain level to ensure complete control of their roaming activity. Customers can also monitor their consumption and receive alerts that warn them when they have reached 50, 80 and 100 per cent data usage allowance. In addition to roaming packages, customers can now subscribe to our recently launched iPass service, which provides access to more than 1.4 million internet wireless access points in 130 countries.
