Jeddah - Arab Today

Industrial Instrumentation & Control Systems (IICS) recently completed the landmark Al-Ghaba Irrigation Scheme Project for its client Al-Rajhi International for Investment (RAII).
Geared toward increasing food security for Saudi Arabia and Sudan, the project is part of the broader “Al-Rajhi Agricultural and Animal Production” initiative by RAII, first launched in 2015.
Encompassing the delivery of a complete turnkey solution for the SCADA system of Phase 1 based in Al-Ghaba in Sudan, the project allowed IICS to move beyond the Kingdom’s boundaries and use its expertise to match the client’s requirements.
Starting from design and software engineering to remote terminal unit testing, installation and commissioning on site, IICS with cooperation with RAII expertise offered a unique remote monitoring and control integrated solution to the client.
The 32 irrigation pivots in Sudan could be monitored and controlled from the Kingdom, making it easier for client to control water and electricity consumption and improve crop production while simultaneously enabling optimized operation of the irrigation scheme.
IICS CEO Hussam Abdulhalm said: “We are proud of the work we did on this project in cooperation with RAII. We definitely pushed the envelope and not only matched but exceeded client expectations by providing them with a solution that offered them complete control from the comfort of their offices here.
“This project is unique since it is completely executed in-house and the project is delivered with a ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ stamp.
“We are constantly looking for opportunities that allow us to demonstrate our in-house capabilities which are at par with international companies when it comes to the execution of such projects. Our solution has created financial returns by eliminating the need for any manual intervention on site.”
He also added: “Finally, we are grateful to our client for having trusted us at every stage of the project’s execution.”
IICS, a subsidiary of Abunayyan Holding, is a world class automation, electrical and instrumentation services company that specializes in providing solutions that optimize efficiency, improve productivity and combine innovative design with engineering.
