Minister Ashraf salman
Cairo - MENA

Investment Minister Ashraf Salman will witness on Thursday at the ministry headquarters several deals to be signed with Chinese companies.

The deals come on the sidelines of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Egypt.

The deals will include a contract on developing the public sector's textile companies, the Investment Ministry said in a statement.

Xi arrived in Cairo coming from Saudi Arabia, on a visit to Egypt.

Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Chinese leader at the airport.

Xi's visit is meant to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Egypt and China.

The Egyptian and Chinese presidents will hold a summit and a press conference on Thursday.

They will also attend a ceremony in Luxor to inaugurate the Egyptian-Chinese cultural year.

Xi is scheduled to sign a number of deals with Egypt on the sidelines of his visit to the country.

Chinese President's visit is part of a Middle East tour that includes stops in Saudi Arabia and Iran.
