Russian Presidential Property Management Department has set up a territorial branch in the Russian Republic of Crimea, chief presidential property manager Alexander Kolpakov told ITAR-TASS.
“Inspection and appraisal of facilities is in progress, a Crimean branch of the Presidential Property Management Department, heade by Oleg Podolko, was established for the purpose,” Kolpakov said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated earlier that he did not have a residence in Crimea, but the government would probably acquire it. Sanatoria, holiday homes, state-owned country houses and residences that had earlier been managed by the Ukrainian Presidential Property Management Department, the Verkhovna Rada, and other governmental agencies, remained on the peninsula.
Kolpakov refrained from elaborating on the use, adding that “it is early” to develop plans, at first the audit inspection should be completed.
In reply to the question whether the Presidential Property Management Department will participate in other projects for Crimea’s development, particularly construction of roads, a bridge across the Kerch Strait, water supplies to the peninsula, he said, “These questions are not in jurisdiction of the Russian Presidential Property Management Department."
Meanwhile, Kolpakov forecasts “a boom” in demand of vouchers to Russian sanatoria this summer, some of which he managed to inspect personally. “Fully refurbished holiday center in Dagomys, sanatoria Sochi and Rus which had been reconstructed as part of preparation to the Winter Olympics in the city of Sochi, met the summer season. Holiday homes in the North Caucasus and Moscow Region, on the Volga River are prepared to accommodate holidaymakers. Almost all rooms have already been booked,” the chief presidential property manager noted. He noted that “holiday centers run by the Presidential Property Management Department are open not only for public servants, but also almost for everyone who wants to spend vacations there, values a cosy atmosphere, comfort and a high level of medical services.”
