Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality management system following audits of the Qatar Rail QSHESE department by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) The certificate handing ceremony was held at Qatar Rail's Doha headquarters in the presence of Qatar Rail Deputy Chief Executive Officer Eng. Hamad Al Bishri and QSHESE Director Dr. Fahad Al-Jaber. The certification was handed by LRQA Area Field Service Manager Brian Baxter.
"This is a key milestone for Qatar Rail as it provides not only governance and assurance management, but more importantly a framework for continuous improvement and excellence in delivery. I would like to thank all the Qatar Rail team and LRQA for their efforts in making this possible," Al Bishri said.
The awarded certification specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The organization should also aim to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
