Saudi Electric Company’s Rabigh 2 Power Plant (4x700MW) on Wednesday received its Power & Water Project of the Year Award handed out by the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) in Dubai.
MEED’s Quality Awards for Projects 2016 is in recognition of companies that maintain quality standard across the region. Winners are judged based on economic and social impact, environmental impact, and engineering, design, and construction achievements.
Located 160 kilometers north of Jeddah, Rabigh 2 Power Plant has a production capacity of 2,800 MW (700 MW × 4 units), which constitute the largest national power plant total and the largest individual energy in the world station operating on fuel oil.
The project’s partners include Mashreq, Six Construct, Parsons, Vitra and ASGC.
