London - Arabstoday

Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME) and EgyptAir have signed a multi-year distribution agreement which provides Sabre-connected travel agents around the world with access to the carrier’s full range of air fares. Captain Hossam Kamal, chairman and CEO of EgyptAir, said: “Egypt is the ultimate destination for adventure, ancient architecture and hospitality. “Our relationship with Sabre will help the airline and the country with its ongoing expansion strategy. The exposure to agents through Sabre’s global network means Egypt’s wonders are accessible to the world.” Daniel Naoumovitch, STNME’s chief executive, said: “Sabre and EgyptAir have shared a longstanding relationship for the past decade. This new deal strengthens Sabre’s presence in Egypt and will power the airline’s growth plans. “With our strategic offices in Cairo and Alexandria, we are confident this partnership will grow and prosper further.” EgyptAir fares will be accessible by more than 350,000 travel agents who use the Sabre global distribution system putting Egyptian tourism back on the map for the world. Approximately $100 billion of travel is purchased through this channel annually. Sabre operates in Egypt from Cairo and Alexandria. With a total of 21 offices in 11 countries across the Middle East and North Africa region, Sabre is the only global distribution system provider with a head office in the region. Sabre GDS currently offers the best fares for more than 400 airlines, 100,000 hotels, 25 car rental brands, 50 rail providers, 13 cruise lines and other global travel suppliers. EgyptAir joins a growing list of more than 400 airlines that have chosen the GDS to sell to travel agencies. Sabre recently announced agreements with VIM Avia and Saudi Arabian Airlines.
