Samsung, LG win US Energy Star award

Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc., the two dominant tech giants in South Korea, said Thursday they each won the 2014 Energy Star Award in the United States for its power-efficient products. The award, given by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 1993, cited the companies' steady contributions in campaigns to save energy and protect the environment.
