Samsung Electronics Co., the world's top maker of memory chips, liquid crystal display (LCD) panels and TVs, estimated Thursday it had posted an operating profit of 3.7 trillion won (US$3.47 billion) in the second quarter. The preliminary estimate for the April-June period represents a 26.15 percent decline from a record operating profit of 5.01 trillion won a year ago, Samsung said in a regulatory filing.
