Manama - Arab Today

Royal Guard Commander and Head of the High Organising Committee of Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC 2017) Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the great success of the exhibition was the result of the royal patronage and keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to follow up on all organizational procedures of the conference.

Brigadier Shaikh Nasser noted that success of the event had reasserted Bahrain’s status in the exhibition industry, in general, and the defence fairs, in particular. He hailed cooperation of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, praising the directives of HRH the Premier to all ministries and government institutions to work in tune with the High Organising Committee of the exhibition to ensure success of the event.
He also commended the motivating support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to avail of valuable ideas that contribute to boosting Bahrain’s pioneering status on the world map as a key destination for defence technologies.

Brigadier Shaikh Nasser also commended the tremendous support of Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to BIDEC 2017 to ensure its success, pointing out the importance of the event in coordinating military and diplomatic efforts among many countries in the defence field. He lauded the substantial efforts of Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and his constant follow-up on the organisational procedures and coordination with all parties in Bahrain and beyond to reach set up goals.

Brigadier Shaikh Nasser affirmed that Bahrain was the focus of the world as many news agencies, mass media and social media networks shed light on the major international event which has boosted the kingdom’s international standing as a home to the military defence exhibitions industry. He noted that BIDEC 2017 represented an opportunity to exchange views and discuss the current security developments.
He added it is also a translation of the overall strategic political and diplomatic visions of the main alliances participating in the key international event, including mainly the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen, the Saudi-led Islamic Counterterrorism Alliance and the North Atlantic Alliance.

Brigadier Shaikh Nasser pointed out that the exhibition provided an international venue for the advanced military defence industries to thrive and generated many investment opportunities to set up defence coalitions to protect the world and promote peace and security. He lauded interaction of the international exhibitors, the military and political delegations as well as the visitors, pointing out the role of the exhibition in invigorating many touristic and commercial sectors in Bahrain.
