Visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with the board chairman of Huawei, the Chinese telecommunications giant, which investments hit 240 million dollars in Egypt, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
In statements Wednesday, the spokesman said that the Huawei's chief briefed Sisi on a plan to beef up their investments in Egypt.
The two sides also signed a MoU in the field of Smart electricity meters, he added.
Sisi also met with a number of Chinese tourist companies, during which he listened to several demands of the various tour operators and promised to discuss their demands when he returns to Egypt, according to the spokesman.
The spokesman, meanwhile, said that Sisi visited China's Ruling Communist party, where he was received by the foreign affairs minister along with a host of party officials.
The Chinese officials affirmed the close ties binding Egypt and China and voiced keenness on promoting bilateral ties within the upcoming phase, added the spokesman.
Sisi then headed for the Great Hall of the People, where he met with the Chinese prime minister and discussed with him bilateral ties and ways of further promoting ties.
An agreement was reached to establish a joint teamwork from Egypt and China in order to develop a framework agreement for cooperation between the two sides, said the spokesman.
The spokesman further said that the government is currently preparing feasibility studies for all the proposed projects in order to be reviewed during the economic conference which will be held in Sharm el Sheikh in March.
The Chinese side affirmed support to Egypt to implement its ambitious development plan, the spokesman added.
