Kuwait's United Real Estate Company (URC) has opened its new project, Salalah Gardens Mall in the city of Salalah, Oman, Saturday evening. Funded with OMR 30,000,000 (USD 77.9 million), the project is the largest mall in the city. URC Chairman Tariq Mohammad Abdulsalam said in a speech during the opening ceremony "We share a similar civilization, culture and heritage, and that is reflected in the architectural design of this project. "Our prime objective in developing Salalah Gardens Mall was to create components that complement each other to offer an unprecedented experience which combines entertainment and shopping activities, and a comfortable hotel experience." he added. He pointed out that there is a distinct relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Kuwait, hoping that this vital project would contribute in the fields of tourism and architecture in Oman, particularly in the Governorate of Dhofar. "We are in the process of starting an entertainment project in the coastal state of Shuwaimiya, which will attract tourists from all over the world," he said. For his part, Omani Minister of Tourism Nasser Al-Mahrizi said that since laying the foundation stone of the project in 2009, the ministry, along with the project owner, exerted outstanding efforts to finish it on time. The complex includes a hotel, cinema, entertainment corner for children, restaurants and a shopping center with a selection of high-end shops, a hyper market and an open garden. Salalah Gardens Mall is the first and only mall in Salalah, featuring a wide variety of shopping, dining and entertainment activities.
