Benchmark of Amman Stock Exchange gained 33.8 points in the past week trading and volume of daily trades increased 31.7 percent, according to weekly figures of the bourse, publicized on Friday. Benchmark for the week closing rose to 2,035 points, compared with 2,001.2 points of the previous week, an increase of 1.69 percent. As to sectors, the main index of the financial sector increased 1.32 percent, that of the industries, 2.25 percent, and services, 1.74 percent. Volume of daily trading amounted to approximately USD 15 million, compared with USD 12 million the week before; with a decrease proportion of 31.7 percent. Overall volume of trades of the week stood at some USD 78.8 million, in contrast with USD 37 million the week before. Number of traded shares reached 60.1 million, done through 22,846 deals. As to sectors' contributions in volume of trade, financial sector came first, 60.6 percent of the overall trade, followed by industries, 23 percent, and lastly services, 16.3 percent. Comparing prices of closing of trading companies, amounting to 183, with previous closing, stock price of 81 ones rose and those of 54 others dropped.
