Bond market closes with narrowing spreads

The spread between Italian 10-year bonds and the benchmark German bund closed down Wednesday at 329 basis points from 341 a day earlier. The yield, an important indicator of investor confidence in the heavily indebted country's ability to whether the euro crisis, was down to 4.92% from 5.05%. The equivalent spread between Spanish and German bonds also narrowed to 407 points with a yield of 5.69%.
