Grain futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade to close out the week Friday. Corn was off 1/2 to up 3/4, soybeans were off 9 3/4 to off 12, wheat was up 1 1/4 to up 4 and oats were unchanged to up 2 1/2. Corn prices were little changed with some support from wheat, which moved slightly higher. Wheat prices eased back from early gains, closing with gains in Chicago, but slightly lower in Minneapolis and mixed in Kansas City. The soybean futures fell on reports planting in Argentina was higher than expected at 79.98 million acres. The prices: Corn: Dec 7.61 1/2 up 3/4, Mar 7.59 1/2 up 1/4, May 7.53 3/4 off 1/4, Jly 7.45 3/4 off 1/2. Soybeans: Nov 15.34 1/4 off 11 1/4, Jan 15.36 1/2 off 9 3/4, Mar 15.09 1/4 off 10 1/2, May 14.63 3/4 off 12. Wheat: 8.72 1/2 up 4, Mar 8.83 3/4 up 3, May 8.86 3/4 up 2 1/2, Jly 8.48 1/4 up 1 1/4. Oats: Dec 3.94 1/4 up 1/4, Mar 3.98 unchanged, May 3.98 3/4 up 2 1/2, Jly 3.98 1/4 up 2 1/2.
