The contest between bulls and bears ended without any significant change at Saudi stock market yesterday as Tadawul index retreated to 6,855.12 points, which was roughly where it started the session. The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) while wavering in the North-South within a range of 38 points, closed just below the break-even line losing a nominal 4.47 points or 0.07 percent. Twelve out of Tadawul's fifteen sectors ended the day in green territory, accumulating an aggregate of 210 points. Insurance sector remained at top showing an increase of 1.24 percent to 1,151.93 from 1,137.78. The Telecom sector changed its position from top performer of previous day to the worst performing sector of the day, down 1.08 percent. The market breadth was positive with advance-decline ratio of 2.1:1. Top ten market cap companies ended the day in a mixed fashion. The losses made by the Saudi Arabian Fertilizers Co. (-1.76 percent) and Rajhi Bank (-0.34 percent) being offset by rise in Etihad Etisalat Co.(Mobily) (+1.2 percent) and Saudi Telecom (+0.78 percent). Share trading activity remained high on Sunday. Trading volume at Tadawul reached 401.3 million shares traded, a 42 percent increase over previous day's volume when 282.6 million shares changed hands. Dar Alarkan Real Estate appeared to be the most active stock for the day. Its volume set sold about 163.7 million shares, which are about 40.8 percent of the overall market. The value of these shares reached to SR1.7 billion, which equates 23 percent of Tadawul liquidity. From arabnews
