'Transparency and disclosure in capital markets' seminar, organized by the Capital Market Authority (CMA), under the auspices of Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Al-Duqm, Yahya bin Said Al-Jabri, and chairman of CMA has kicked off here on Wednesday. The seminar targets chief executives, senior management staff at the public and private sectors, investment funds, investment companies and those interested in capital market sector. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Qasabi, Director of Compliance and Disclosure at the CMA said "The seminar will focus on five themes through a number of working papers by experts and specialists from inside and outside the Sultanate. "The first part of the seminar will focus on the role of disclosure and transparency in enhancing the efficiency of capital market, while the second one will cover the disclosure requirements at the capital market and the role of the issuer in enhancing disclosure." The two-day seminar aims at developing awareness of the significance of disclosure and transparency to reach the best international and local practices, in planning the process of disclosure by the participating companies, as well as identifying the experiences amid the wave of challenges brought by globalization and economic openness and crises
