The unemployment rate in Albania during 2015 was 17.5 percent, Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) informed on Wednesday.

Number of unemployed in Albania stood at 223,864 persons in 2015, INSTAT said on Wednesday.

The unemployment rate for males of the age group from 15-64 was 17.5 percent and 17.4 percent for females. Compared to 2014, the unemployment rate has slightly dropped by 0.4 percent.

Analysis of the unemployment rate by educational level shows that in Albanian labor market in 2015 unemployment rate is higher among persons with upper secondary education (20.4 percent) followed by those with university education (19.1 percent).
