Emirates Central Cooling Corporation (Empower), the largest district cooling service provider in the MENA region, has said that consumption of district cooling provided by the company rose by 13.6 per cent in July 2011, compared to same period last year. Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower said that the increase is due to the higher occupancy in areas like Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Healthcare City, Al Khail Gate and Dubai International Financial Centre.Bin Shafar added: “New Buildings in Business Bay, Ghoroub Mirdif and Tecom C which have been added to our portfolio, in addition to the kick off of new plants mainly in Business Bay have fuelled this increase in July 2011.” From / Gulf Today
