 Morocco is a key partner for any economic development in Africa, said, Monday in Washington, participants in a forum held on the sidelines of the USA-Africa Summit, hosted by the US federal capital on Aug. 4-6.
In this regard, minister delegate in charge of small enterprises and informal sector Mohamed Mamoun Bouhdoud affirmed that Morocco is a key partner for any economic development in Africa thanks to its strategic location, political stability and expertize of Moroccan enterprises in several African countries.
At the crossroads of Africa and Europe, Morocco has become an essential economic actor in north Africa and sub-Saharan Africa on the back of its political stability, open and attractive business climate and experience of Moroccan banks and enterprises in 22 African countries, said Bouhdoud at a forum held by the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC) themed “North Africa: challenges and opportunities in a transition phase”.
US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Charles Rifkin said that the Maghreb, which is undergoing rapid political, economic and social changes, presents unique opportunities for local and US businesses, calling on the region’s countries to revive the private sector to back social development and economic integration.
US ambassador to Morocco Dwight L. Bush Sr. highlighted before American economic operators the reforms undertaken in Morocco which turned it into a financial hub in the region.
