Taxes paid by non-resident enterprises in China rose by 31.8 percent to reach 102.6 billion yuan (16 billion U.S. dollars) in 2011, the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) said Wednesday."Non-resident enterprises" refers to enterprises that are established in China in accordance with foreign (regional) laws and regulations with practical administrative organizations located outside of China, or those that have no establishments or sites in China but have income sourced from China.The administration attributed the growth to an increase in tax sources and improved tax management.Of the total tax revenue, 63.1 billion yuan came from non-resident enterprises in the country's economically developed regions, such as the cities of Shanghai and Beijing, the SAT said.
