President of Pakistan, Syed Mamnoon Hussain, on Saturday said that the revival of the national economy was a top priority of the government by ensuring an investment and business-friendly atmosphere, said an official press release.President Mamnoon said that effective measures were being put in place to overcome the energy shortage as well as improvement of law and order. Foreign direct investment (FDI) was now scaling up due to viable policies of the government, he added. The President was addressing the 2nd Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Ambassador Conference-2014 in eastern Lahore city that was attended by Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries' ambassadors and a large number of investors and businesspeople. The conference is going to give a considerable boost to trade among all the OIC member countries, as it would help identify impediments and suggest remedies to ensure the smooth flow of merchandise.The Ambassadors of OIC countries, their commercial attaches, sector-specific experts, top businesspeople, parliamentarians, foreign ministry officials and banking sector heads spoke on the issues related to trade and SMEs development in Islamic countries.
