The joint technical committee to determine Yemen'sdevelopmental needs held on Monday its 14th meeting at the General Secretariat ofthe Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab states in the Saudi capital ,Riyadh.The committee discussed the progress in allocating the donor pledges alreadystated in the meetings of London, Riyadh and New York, as well as the aid providedby the GCC countries to Yemen in the developmental field, as well as following-upthe progress of work on projects that are funded by the GCC countries and both ofthe Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) and the IslamicDevelopment Bank (IDB).The meeting touched on the developments in the work of the Executive Bureau toaccelerate absorption of donors' pledges, and the perception of the GCC's GeneralSecretariat about the importance of the Council's help in the preparation of studiesand projects to be implemented in Yemen.Moreover, the meeting also dealt with the underway preparations for the convening of the Friends of Yemen Meeting scheduled on April 29 in London.
