After revising the specifications and the conditions in the deal involving lease of 12 and purchase of another 25 new Airbus planes, the current management at Kuwait Airways brought down cost by 10 percent, said the airways' Chairwoman Rasha Al-Roumi in press remarks, Sunday. Al-Roumi noted that the new management sought counsel of a specialist legal firm, "and we succeeded in amending the previous details of the deal and removed some disadvantageous items, which resulted in decrease in cost of the deal." As for the inquiry at the National Assembly, Al-Roumi pointed out the board supplied the inquiry committee with all contracts for lease and purchase of new aircraft. "We expressed all due cooperation and transparency and provided a full and detailed review of our efforts in this area, and we are now waiting for the committee's report," she remarked. The National Assembly had mandated a committee, February, 2014, to investigate all contracts signed by the state-owned airliner as it attempts the biggest overhaul of its fleet since the 1990 Iraqi invasion and occupation
